What Color Should My Pool Be?

What Color Should My Pool Be?

August 10, 2022/by Gabe

So you’ve decided to add a pool to your property and you’re getting ready to design it. You’ve thought about what size it should be to comfortably fit in your yard and you have an idea of what shape would be best. Now, what color should you make it? As it turns out, there are a few different options that can create stunning results.

Blue

Blue is a classic pool color. There are so many different shades of blue you can choose from, and all of them create beautiful pools. There’s something about a blue pool that seems so fresh and inviting. Water naturally tends to take on a subtle blue color thanks to sky reflections, and a blue interior is an excellent choice to amplify that beautiful natural color.

White

If warm sandy beaches are your ideal getaway, then a white pool interior might be a good choice for you. It’s excellent for anyone who’s chosen a minimalistic or modern style for their backyard since it lends itself to a clean, streamlined look. White is also a fairly economical option, which is why it tends to be such a popular choice. That said, dirt and debris will show up quite easily on a white pool interior, so make sure you’re ready to be disciplined about pool cleaning and maintenance.

Black

Black is a less common color choice for pool interiors, but it’s great if you want a classy, visually stunning option. It’s also an excellent choice if you want your pool to stay warmer a little longer. Black pool interiors tend to soak up heat from the sun quite nicely, which means your pool water will be warmer for longer. It may even extend how much of the year you’re able to use your pool. If you want to save some money on heating your pool without sacrificing comfort, black can be a great choice.

Blue, white, and black pools can all be stunning, but those aren’t the only options. Some pool owners choose varying shades of gray or even red for their pools. Consider your landscaping and your yard’s aesthetic as you think about what color you should choose. That way your pool will fit in nicely with the rest of your yard.
